Research Interests
My research focuses on labor economics, human capital formation, and applied microeconometrics. I study how education, skills, and family decisions shape earnings, health, and gender inequality over the life cycle. My recent work examines the mental health of children and young adults, the career costs of fertility, and the gender wage gap. I combine structural models with reduced-form methods to estimate their causal effects.
Prior to economics, I worked for ten years in experimental particle physics at the Collider Detector at Fermilab. My work focused on the properties of the Z boson and on searches for new Z′ bosons. For a list of my physics publications, please see my physics Google Scholar profile.
